Mass finishing is a separating process for the surface treatment of primarily metallic workpieces. The workpieces to be processed are placed in a container as bulk material together with abrasive media (so-called chips) and usually an additive in an aqueous solution (compound). An oscillating or rotating movement of the work bowl creates a relative movement between the workpiece and the sanding body, which causes material to be removed from the workpiece, particularly at its edges. The surface appearance of the workpieces, the roughness, the material removal and the deburring performance can be varied almost at will by the machines and tools used (abrasive media and compound).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vibratory grinding is defined in DIN 8589 and is called <b>vibratory cutting<\/b>, as it is not always a grinding process, but also a lapping or polishing process, depending on the process.
